THE SAVER, explained: what's actually in the set, and who it's for

People ask me why nookees sells a set instead of just letting them buy one pad to try.

It's a fair question, and the honest answer is the whole reason THE SAVER exists. So let me walk you through exactly what's in it, why each piece is there, and who I built it for.

What's in the set

THE SAVER is the complete nookees starter set. Three things:

One lyocell PANTY. Lyocell is a fibre spun from wood cellulose - breathable, soft, biodegradable, and it doesn't trap moisture the way polyester does. This is the part you wear all day.

Three organic cotton PADS, in light, medium and heavy. They're 100% organic cotton, IVN Best certified, which is the strictest organic textile standard there is. Each PAD has three small snaps that click straight into the PANTY, so it stays put - no sliding, no folding, no wings. You change the PAD, not the whole PANTY.

Two POUCHES, for the used PAD on a work day, the travel day, the moments in between.

No plastic against your skin. No biocides. No PFAs. And because the PADS are pure organic cotton, you wash them at 60°C - properly clean, the way blood and bacteria actually need to be washed, not the lukewarm 40°C most synthetic period products force on you.

Why a set, and not a single pad

Because one pad tells you almost nothing.

The thing that makes someone trust a new period product isn't a sample. It's getting through a real heavy day without thinking about it. It's the midday change at work that turns out to be three clicks instead of a whole undressing routine. It's the travel day where you didn't have to count how many disposables to pack.

THE SAVER gives you the full system - every absorbency, the PANTY, the POUCHES - so you can put it through your actual life and decide for yourself. You can't do that with one pad. You can with this.

It also costs less than buying the pieces separately, which felt like the only fair way to ask someone to switch.

The honest way to think about the price

Reusable products look more expensive at the checkout and cheaper everywhere else. THE SAVER is built to last for years, so the number that actually matters isn't the price of the box - it's the price per period, spread over five years. Run that against what you've spent on disposables since you were a teenager and it stops being an expense and starts being the obvious choice.

Who it's for

If you've already moved past disposables, if you've tried the cup and the reusable pads and the period underwear and felt the gap between what was promised and what actually happened - THE SAVER is for you. You don't need convincing that conventional period products have problems. You're just waiting for one that doesn't ask you to compromise on either side.

That's the one I built. It's in a set, and it's called THE SAVER.
