As I traveled a lot last year it led to meeting a lot of people which led to hearing a lot of stories. And most of them went in the same direction.
There was a time when I thought I was the worst CEO in the universe. I had issues with the production. I had issues with the growth. I had issues with the pace. From what I saw everybody around me in the bubble, was dealing with production issues in a better way and did that even faster. Not me.
I went through phases when I was really wondering why all the other companies seemed to already skyrocket, while I was still assembling the rocket. Again and again.
The more I talk to people about the true story of their business, the more I get to know the truth about growth and bringing up a sustainable and healthy company. Of course, there are cases where a lot of money led to a lot of growth. But that's not the normal story.
The normal story is one about ups and downs, about times when nobody knew how to deal with all of the chaos. When things went wrong again and again, and it just took time to fix them and build up something step by step. For months and months and years and years.
For me knowing that I am not the only one helps immensely. And I am thankful for each honest talk I had and still will have.
