A start-up without a mission? How?

A start-up without a mission? How?

So often when I do little pop-ups or a booth on a market, people are quite impressed about the social impact of nookees. And yes, of course, it is quite cool and yes, I am quite proud of what we are doing together with our amazing partners in Uganda, South Africa and Nepal. But the question is: How could I not?

How could I just build a fancy Berlin start-up for the people of our bubble without thinking of all the other menstruating people all around the world? Or let me put it even in a bigger perspective: How could anybody start a company without having a (global) problem to solve in mind? We can look at any of the issues of our time and realize without a doubt that there is still so much to do.

Of course I like the comments of people and their support for what I am doing with the nookees Foundation, but this is really just a glimpse of what we all should do. And I find it quite disturbing when people do not have it on their radar. How can it just be about profit when we're crashing and burning our world on the go?

And what should be the best way to deal with it? Just caring about our own impact and doing the best we can, or also being a bit more pushy to get others to do the same? Sometimes I don't know, but still wonder. Any suggestions are highly appreciated...
