When we planned to do the relaunch in spring 2023 (which ended up, as you might know, in a complete production disaster) I was so convinced by the golden design of nookees. But I was particularly wrong, I guess.
For me, the golden color was the big sign to celebrate menstruation again. To be proud of it. To feel like a queen and finally get the whole menstruation topic out of the dark corner. That was my intention, those were my thoughts.
When I got the feedback of the customers it was quite diverse: some liked the golden color period panties, some didn't. Some were ok with the fact to see their blood in the pad, some weren't. Some were asking for a darker edition, some didn't. And I got confused.
What was happening with my idea behind it? Was I wrong? Was it bad? Did I fail? Actually, none of it! As everything that happens, happens for a reason and at the right time. And now, after launching the black edition, I can say that I learned so much along the way and it all helped me to grow nookees in an amazing way.
The most important thing: tastes are different, and that is totally ok. Some like dark, and some like light period panties. Some like this, some like that. And it is all great and should be the way it is. And none of it has to do anything against my design, my creativity, or anything else. It is just about desires, and why not serve all of them?
Now, as I am very proud to say that the black edition is out there (and in the first weeks the orders were exploding), I am very thankful for the winding road that got me here. Ups and downs involved, learnings and tears included. And the big discovery: gold and black are both incredibly amazing colors for nookees, and I personally love to wear both of them!
