During an event of the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation in Berlin, my wonderful goalkeeper family and I had a fun time with Bill Gates and shot an even funnier video for his Instagram account. And what can I say? I am incredibly soaking in and enjoying each of those single moments happening recently.
Obviously because it is quite fun to hang with people like Bill Gates and obviously I have to pinch myself every now and then. But there is one more pretty big and pretty important fact in this.
All those moments give me the opportunity to share the mission I have with my nookees Foundation (to minimize period poverty) with people who can make a difference in it. Still, every time I mention the number of 800 million people menstruating at the same time, while 500 million of those do not have access to period products, my conversation partners look at me with big eyes. And big surprise.
But yes, here we are: Trying to tackle this problem. Trying to change it in any shape or form. And yes, here I am: Thankful to be able to address it more and more to people who are more and more important. While obviously having fun. And beers. With my wonderful gang of international change-makers. And Bill Gates.
